Earthless
Formed in 2001, EARTHLESS prides itself on creating energetic, utterly unique and free thinking instrumental music inspired by an eclectic mix of German krautrock and Japanese heavy blues-rock. The Californian trio has dedicated itself to mastery of the mind-bending jam session, evoking the spirits of Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath in equal measure. Named after a song title from vintage New York garage-psych band The Druids of Stonehenge, EARTHLESS’ sound has been called “A sonic kaleidoscope of lava and lightning”, earning it the title of “California’s loudest band”. The group delivers “one of the best live shows in all of modern, heavy rock,” leading to one reviewer stating that the band’s “epic shredding harkens back to the days were psychedelic rock had balls the size of grapefruits and wasn’t afraid to take its listeners on a ride for which they may never return.”

Each member of EARTHLESS has done time in many other bands. Drummer (and former pro skater) Mario Rubalcaba currently plays in the hardcore punk band OFF! and has also occupied the drum throne in Rocket From The Crypt and Hot Snakes amongst many others. Bassist Mike Eginton played with Electric Nazarene and guitarist Isaiah Mitchell was most recently in Howlin’ Rain, has played with Nebula and Drunk Horse and also heads up the Bay Area band Golden Void. In the end, EARTHLESS is the musical rock that grounds the three musicians and now, after more than half a decade since the release of their last studio LP, EARTHLESS has returned and is out to prove — through sheer rock power — why they are considered the cream of the modern day heavy psych scene.

Desert Graves with Dark Palms & Dopamine Antagonist @ Le Voyeur - Olympia
Nov 2 @ 7:00 pm

Boise-based post-punk/psych band Desert Graves plays Olympia with heavy post-punk/psych rockers Dark Palms and Dopamine Antagonist (No Body, Duzz) for their second EP release short tour.

$5. All Ages.

“Psychedelia in Machiavellian tones, horror, drugs, neurosis, and coming catastrophe. This dangerous environment is inserted completely into the music of the insane freaks Desert Graves.”
– The Blog That Celebrates Itself

Dark Palms music is barbaric, pulsing, yet nuanced and nimble. They are the type of band that proves that modern post-punk sounds can still hold pop sensibilities – that you can still see what’s in your rear view while looking forward.

The Grizzled Mighty
The Grizzled Mighty was formed in the fiery belly of an active volcano. From the center of the Earth they erupted, spewed forth like a flaming phoenix. Ryan rose from the ashes of destruction, guitar in hand, bringing the erotic riffs of Hades to the trembling surface. Faustine, agent of evil and harbinger of chaos, descended swiftly as a rain of fire, striking the roiling bedrock like the Hammer of Thor. Together they create a force that rips the very fabric of space and time. There is no escaping The Grizzled Mighty.

Hobosexual (Album Release) w/ The Black Tones & NighTraiN @ The Crocodile - Seattle (Belltown)
Nov 4 @ 8:00 pm

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Hobosexual entered Killroom Studios for a second time with revered Seattle producer of lore, Benjamin Donald Jenkins to begin work on their 3rd LP.

The trio locked themselves away for over 8 months, surviving only on Handy Snacks, Beef Jerky, Hostess snack cakes, and beer.

Last month, a special ops Norwegian salvage team, hired by Rick Rubin, located and broke down the doors to Killroom Studios.

The 3 men were found alive,

…exhibiting full Rocky IV beards, matching tattoos of B. Arthur, and clutching the rock record of the decade.

Join us, as KEXP and Artist Home present: “Monolith”, Saturday, November 4th at The Crocodile.

“Monolith” is the follow up to the duo’s critically praised 2013 effort, “Hobosexual II.”

Hobosexual will be joined by The Black Tones, as well as an incredible, 1 night ONLY REUNION of Locomotive Punk sensations, “NighTraiN”!

Tickets go ON SALE Tuesday, September 12th at 10am.

Hobosexual
2 Beards, 4 amps, mind of a scientist, and more raw talent than Jesus.
Ben grew up dirt poor and on welfare in the PNW.
Jeff also grew up dirt poor and on welfare in NY, before moving to Seattle in his 20’s.
Ben grew up in a very diverse family, half of which were/are LGBTQ.
Hobosexual was adopted by Ben and Jeff as a tongue in cheek dictatorial spin on affiliation as antiquated preference, the original and CORRECT GREEK root (a la not disgusting) meaning of the compound word “Hobo-Sexual” being:

“One who cares little for their own personal appearance.”

The band’s sound (overtly) is an expressionist statement against the mind numbing, narcissistic affluence which has steadily permeated every facet of the PNW art scene since the mid 2000s.

Outrage culture in support of fashion and politics as well as music created for people who don’t actually LIKE music, has become the new norm.

Covertly, Hobosexual stands for many local and regional fans as one of the last true, no frills rock bands left standing.

They are a deafening rock machine, devoid of fashion sense, devoid of desperation, devoid of opportunism or corporatism and simultaneously rife with passion, sweat, blood, teeth and hair, …the way Rock N’ Roll was meant to be studied and delivered.

Hobosexual is the PEOPLE’S band.

A band standing up for ALL of US living in poverty or refuse, ..Black, White, Brown, LGBTQ or Neptunian, living under the thumb of $750,000 condos, and “gastropubs.”

Hobo cares about ONE thing, and ONE thing only.

Making you SMILE (while remembering what it’s actually like to feel included, comfortable, and inspired again by loud rock n roll).

ALL of OUR LOVE to ALL of YOU LOVES,

-The Hobos.
